Inspire  - ITEC QCF Diploma in Massage course

This is a very practical, hands-on training, focusing on therapy skills.  It is the most widely recognised massage syllabus in the UK and is the gold standard. ITEC is also recognised across a range of countries.  Between us at Inspire we have been teaching ITEC syllabi for many years.  We are all passionate and committed massage therapists, who also have a variety of other therapy skills.  We can add the depth of our experience to your learning and all of our teaching is in the context of how you can use these skills to help people.

As well as teaching you how to massage superbly, we can open up the world of networking with others across the complementary field.  We’ll show you how to work safely and seek advice from the medical profession when necessary.  We’ll guide you to research material to help with your ongoing learning and we’ll be available for tutorials both in class and the start and end of each class day and also by email during and after the course.

Inspire ITEC QCF Diploma in Massage Course Structure

The course is structured in one and two day blocks. This is an ideal blend of immersion in intensive study with breaks in between to allow you time to assimilate the material, practise your skills and complete home study assignments and case studies.

We believe that learning this way will provide a more in-depth experience for you. It gives us time to support individual students with their learning. As well as teaching days, students will be given a manageable number of home study assignments, important for those of you who have families and/or are working.

Inspire - ITEC QCF Diploma in Massage Course Content

This course will not only show you how to put together a full massage treatment, but will help to make your anatomy knowledge come to life. We’ll teach you:

  • Health & Safety legislation and clinic hygiene
  • Taking a client history
  • Indications and contraindications and staying safety
  • Assessing treatment objectives
  • Understanding the specific benefits of massage movements
  • Referring to other professionals where necessary
  • Carrying out a full treatment
  • Treatment reactions and aftercare advice
  • How to maintain ongoing client care
  • How to maintain good working posture and good therapist health

Course times: 10am to 5.30pm

A key element to our teaching is to establish good working habits at the training stage. This includes posture and mobility of the therapist which we get right, which is why we are busy working therapists with over eighteen years pain-free treatment experience each.  Learning will be supported by a comprehensive manual, which will include revision tips, details of other learning resources such as research websites and suggested books to help you. It will contain all the information you will need relating to ITEC’s examination process and your tutor will guide you through what you need to know.

Entry requirements
Students must hold (or be taking concurrently) the ITEC Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology Diploma.

You will need to purchase a treatment couch for your case studies and to use once qualified and a uniform for the supervised clinics and exam.  You will also need to take out student insurance for your case studies.  You will be advised of the costs of these at the start of the course

Payment
Subject to agreement at Inspire's discretion, an installment payment plan may be offered.  If this is paid by card, there will be a surcharge.

Exams and Registration
There will be a practical massage exam, which is held at your training venue and observed by an ITEC external examiner. The fee for processing this is £108 plus VAT (subject to change by ITEC) per student for the practical exam, which includes a practical pre-exam assessment with feedback and marking of your case studies. This fee is payable before you can be entered for the exams.

On successful completion of the course (subject to assessment) and provision of all assignments on time, Inspire will register you for the exams and will book the exam dates to follow as soon after the end of the module as is practicable and this will allow time for your revision. You should note that if you need more time with your learning you can register and take the exams at a later date. We will be arranging exam dates twice yearly.
