Have you always wanted to know how to treat Iliotibial band syndrome effectively or how to release the iliopsoas for lower back pain? The pelvis, hip and leg are all common injury sites, causing pain patterns throughout the body, often leaving your clients unable to train or exercise and coming to you for a cure!
If you are fed up with being unable to get effective results from your basic massage skills then this is the course for you. It is run by Marianne Bayes, a successful sports massage therapist with over six years of clinical experience and working with elite sports teams. She will show you how to assess these areas and focus on treating effectively. Bringing your skills into a new dimension will mean you will refer less and treat more!
This very practical two day course will teach you;
- Advanced anatomy of the affected area, essential if you are to know what to treat and why
- How to identify the source of the problem with a comprehensive case history
- Common disorders of the area such as, sciatica, referred back pain, plantar fasciitis and loss of joint mobility. Why they occur, how these conditions affect the sufferer and what effects they have on other structures of the body
- How to use techniques such as, deep tissue massage, positional and soft tissue release and trigger point work, as well as suitable passive stretching, which will have a lasting effect
- How to offer the client appropriate aftercare and further treatment or referral if necessary
Course times: 10am to 5.30pm
