Myofascial release is a great buzzword in manual therapy, but are you boggled with all the different courses on offer? If you want a course which is more technique and application than theory based, then this is the workshop for you.
Myofascial Release is a fantastic method of releasing tension from the even the most stubborn areas. It allows you to go straight to the source of the problem and saves you and the client a lot of time chasing pain around muscles.
This highly practical one-day workshop is designed so you can learn the techniques and use them straight away in your practice alongside your current skills. We will focus on common body issues that we all see in our clients, such as chronic neck pain caused by an elevated and forward shoulder position. The postural evaluation skills will help you to be more aware of the whole body and not just the pain centres. This workshop, taught by Marianne Bayes, an exceptional sports massage practitioner will cover:
- Physiology and functions of fascia
- Principles of myofascial release
- Common sites of fascial tension
- Postural evaluation and how to devise a treatment plan
- Release techniques for lengthening and releasing locked tissue
- Techniques for dealing with recurring tension sites
- Referral protocols and treatment evaluation
Course times: 10am to 5.30pm
