Myofascial Release is a direct and powerful method of releasing tension from common tension areas such as the neck, the diaphragm, the lower back and pelvis. It allows you to go straight to the source of the problem and saves you and the client a lot of time chasing pain around muscles.
This highly practical one-day workshop is designed so you can learn the techniques and use them straight away in your practice alongside your current skills. We will place an emphasis on releasing deep rooted tensions in the front of the body, which are often ignored in traditional massage yet are key to improving posture and flexibility.
Myofascial Release can play an important role in giving clients better ease of movement, confidence and body awareness, helping them cope with the stresses and strains that gravity and life place on us. This workshop, taught by highly experienced massage practitioners will cover:
- Physiology and functions of fascia
- Principles of myofascial release
- Common sites of fascial tension
- Postural evaluation and how to devise a treatment plan
- Release techniques for lengthening and releasing locked tissue
- Techniques for dealing with recurring tension sites
- Referral protocols and treatment evaluation
Course times: 10am to 5.30pm
